Tim Abel, (Lisa's loving, supportive husband!) is the manager of Sports Physical Therapy of NY clinic in Liverpool, NY. He graduated from the University at Buffalo with a doctorate in Physical Therapy, as well as his Orthopedic Specialist Certification. Tim has been practicing Physical Therapy and working with the Sports PT company since 2008. His time is spent rehabilitating patients with injuries of every spectrum. In his free time, Tim volunteers coaching the Roisin Dancers on strengthening, sports agility, injury prevention and overall training to better them for the sport of Irish Dance.

Lisa started dancing at the age of eight under the instruction of Michael Galvin, T.C.R.G. & Edward J. Murphy Jr., A.D.C.R.G. She instantly fell in love with the sport of Irish Dance & everything it involved.

Lisa started teaching at the mere age of 13, assisting Michael with his classes as well as holding private lessons for dancers in her parent's studio basement.

Lisa successfully competed on a Regional, National & International World Championship level for both solo & team competitions. She was consistently ranked in the Top 10 of the Regional & National Championships. Lisa has qualified & has had the honor of competing at the World Championships of Irish Dance multiple times throughout the span of her competitive career.

Towards the end of her competitive career, she spent a brief time traveling with world renowned fiddle player, Eileen Ivers, where she performed on stage throughout her tours.

After permanently moving back to Syracuse, she then studied for & earned her T.C.R.G. (Irish dance teaching certification) through the An Coimisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha (Irish Dancing Commission in Dublin, Ireland) in 2011. She then began a partnership/co-ownership of the school Roisin, which has been in full force ever since. Lisa's dear, former co-owner resigned from Roisin to spend her full time with her children.

To the present day, Lisa is the owner & director of the Roisin Academy of Irish Dance, home to many wonderful, dedicated students & families.
