Lisa started dancing at the age of eight. She instantly fell in love with the sport of Irish Dance & everything it involved. Lisa started teaching at the mere age of 13, assisting her teachers with their classes as well as holding private lessons for dancers in her parent's studio basement.
Lisa successfully competed on a Regional, National & International World Championship level for both solo & team competitions. She was consistently ranked in the Top 10 of the Regional & National Championships. Lisa has qualified & has had the honor of competing at the World Championships of Irish Dance multiple times throughout the span of her competitive career.
Towards the end of her competitive career, she spent a brief time traveling with world renowned fiddle player, Eileen Ivers, where she performed on stage throughout her tours.
After permanently moving back to Syracuse, she then studied for & earned her T.C.R.G. (Irish dance teaching certification) through the An Coimisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha (Irish Dancing Commission in Dublin, Ireland) in 2011. Roisin Academy has been in full force ever since. Years have been spent sculpting, crafting & growing the Roisin Academy into the premier school it is today. To the present day, Lisa is the owner & director of the Roisin Academy of Irish Dance, home to many wonderful, dedicated students & families.
